If you’re not in the mood to break open a big planning book or need a break from your computer screen, listening to a podcast can be a great way to help you plan while you walk, run, or even work. Podcasts can help you brainstorm ideas, familiarize yourself with the latest industry trends, and learn the ins and outs of hiring vendors and managing contracts. They can also be a platform to hear from other couples who have been in your position—especially those who have planned weddings during a pandemic! In fact, the pandemic itself spawned a whole new wave of wedding podcasts that touch upon the sheer chaos and uncertainties brought on by this once-in-a-century experience.
No matter the stage of planning you’re in or the type of advice, humor, or anecdotes you’re looking to glean, here are the best wedding podcasts that are definitely worth a listen.
So You’re Engaged, Now What?
Launched by full-service, Tri-state area-based wedding company, Live Picture Studios, this podcast was created to help newly engaged couples navigate the unchartered waters of planning a wedding—and its launch just so happened to coincide with the start of the pandemic. It’s hosted by two women who are great at keeping it real. “Jean and Natasha ask thought-provoking questions and I love how they incorporate so many different perspectives into one topic,” shares Amanda Hudes, event and wedding planner and founder of Smiling Through Chaos Event Planning in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, who’s been a guest on a show a few times.

Hue I Do: The Complexions of Black Weddings
While host Ashleigh Coffie was planning her wedding, she and her maid of honor, Toniah Paryo, recognized a stark lack of Black representation in the wedding podcast space and sought out to change that themselves. So in October 2019, they launched the very first episode of Hue I Do, and ever since they’ve been inviting guest experts to come onto their show to help and inspire engaged couples to be mindful of hiring vendors from diverse backgrounds.

Instead, co-hosts Jessica Bishop, of The Budget Savvy Bride, and real weddings editor Sari Weinerman, have made it their mission to unveil the history behind so many wedding traditions that are still carried out today so that brides can decide for themselves whether to keep or toss them from their own plans. 45 Fascinating Wedding Traditions From Around the World
